These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the LingoNews mobile application ("App"), operated by Dionatas Gonçalves Paz, Braunser Weg 40, 34454 Bad Arolsen, Germany.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using LingoNews, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the App.
2. Description of Service
LingoNews provides a language learning platform that utilizes aggregated and processed real-world news content to support German language acquisition through contextual reading and proprietary translation tools. Our service focuses on creating an efficient daily habit to stay informed while mastering a new language.
3. Intellectual Property
All elements of the App, including but not limited to the software, design, proprietary features (including translation and highlighting systems), and the LingoNews branding and logos, are our exclusive property.
- You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse engineer any part of the App.
- The name "LingoNews" is protected; users are strictly prohibited from using our name to create or promote any third-party business.
4. User Accounts and Conduct
- Account Responsibility: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. Accounts are personal and may not be shared or transferred to others.
- Usage Restrictions: You agree not to use the App for any unlawful purpose or in any way that interferes with the service's integrity.
- Automation: You agree not to use bots, scrapers, or automated systems to extract data from our engine.
5. Third-Party Content
LingoNews aggregates and processes content from third-party sources for educational purposes.
- We do not claim ownership of the original news content.
- We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of third-party news.
- Content is provided for educational purposes only and does not constitute professional advice.
6. Subscriptions and 7-Day Trial
To maintain a high-quality, professional experience, LingoNews utilizes a subscription-based model.
- 7-Day Free Trial: New users are eligible for one 7-day trial period.
- Promotional Offers: From time to time, we may offer extended trial periods (for example, a 1-month trial) or promotional discounts (for example, 20% off a subscription) to selected users or through promo codes. Such offers are optional, may be limited in time or quantity, and are subject to the specific conditions communicated with the offer.
- Paid Access: Continued access after the trial requires an active paid subscription.
- Management: Subscriptions are processed via Google Play Billing (Android) or Apple In-App Purchase (iOS), together with RevenueCat. You may cancel at any time through your Google Play account settings or your Apple ID subscription settings.
- Refunds: Handled according to Google Play or Apple App Store policies, depending on where the purchase was made.
7. Eligibility & Termination
The App is strictly intended for users 18 years and older. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access if these Terms are violated, if your use violates applicable law, or if continued use presents a risk to the service.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties & Limitation of Liability
The App is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not guarantee that the App will be available at all times, free from interruptions, or produce specific learning outcomes. We do not guarantee that the App will function on all devices or operating systems. Furthermore, we do not guarantee the accuracy or reliability of any content provided through the App.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, LingoNews shall not be liable for decisions made based on news content or any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the App.
9. Governing Law & Changes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany. We may update these Terms at any time; continued use constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
